You will be hard pressed to find nicer sod anywhere. Our family has been growing great sod for three generations. (The fourth generation is scheduled to arrive June 15, 2007. The legacy continues…) We start with an Elite 5 seed Kentucky-Bluegrass blend chosen for it’s ability to perform well against drought and disease and is best suited for our climate conditions in Minnesota.

Small Rolls
Green Acres small rolls are 24” wide and contain 13.5 sq. ft. or 1.5 square yards of great sod in each roll. Our small rolls are hand-stacked on a 4’x 4’ pallet which typically creates a sturdier pallet than machine-stacked pallets. Our pallets weigh close to 2,000 lbs, which varies with moisture content. Depending on job site conditions, we typically use small rolls on installations less than 8,000 square feet. For you do-it-yourself types, small rolls are the best way to go for installing your new lawn yourself (unless you have a bobcat and enjoy a good challenge).

Big Rolls
Green Acres is pleased to offer big rolls for installation for contractor pick-up and delivery. Big rolls work great on larger yards and commercial jobs. Our big rolls measure 30” wide and contain 30 sq. yards or 270 sq. ft. in each roll which decreases the amount of seams from small rolls by 66%. Big rolls will dry out less, stay in place better, and the lawn will be able to be used quicker than with traditional small rolls.

Sod Staples
Sod staples are available to purchase for our delivery customers who have sloped surfaces. If you purchase staples, they will be delivered with the sod and can be purchased 10 staples for $3.00
